Visual Artist and Film maker
I'm interested in what it means to be human, to live in a body, and to face our own mortality. Through my work, I explore our relationships with other people, more-than-human beings, and the living world. I don't look for clear answers. Instead, I use art to ask questions, to stay curious, and to imagine more caring and connected ways of living together. -Ninni
Ninni Kaminen (formerly known as Korkalo) is a visual artist and a death doula working with moving image. She studied Fine Arts at the Imatra Art School (Imatra, Finland), having graduated in 2008. Korkalo graduated as Master of Arts from University Of Lapland from the Applied Visual Arts Master program 2014 and as a death doula from Lohtu akatemia Finland 2026. Korkalos work has been exhibited and screened in Finland, Europe, Russia, Africa, South-America and Asia. Ninni is a member of AV-arkki (the Centre for Finnish Media Art), Cross-Art Collective Piste, WIFT Finland and Artists´Association Muu. She lives and works in Helsinki, Finland.
